Severe winter weather is negatively impacting multiple produce items around the world. California is experiencing major floods with more thunderstorms on the way early next week. All crops from California such as broccoli, cauliflower and lettuces are limited and quality is fair at best. High winds of up to 70 MPH and cold temperatures in Florida severely damaged unprotected seedlings and caused significant scarring and bruising on items such as eggplants, squashes, peppers, tomatoes and strawberries. Snow and freezing temperatures in Washington, Idaho and abroad have caused items such as apples, potatoes, onions and cucumbers to experience frost damage. Unfortunately, this extreme weather will affect quality and cause supply gaps in the future. Please speak to your Sales Representative or contact our Customer Service team for any questions or concerns. -

Broccoli will be tight for the next 2-3 weeks. Heavy rains in Southern California will severely damage the crop and little to no production is expected from the region due to poor quality. The Yuma and Mexican growing regions will also be limited in supply.
